What the relocation grant is
When a home is sold through a short sale, the owner often has to move quickly, with little money set aside. Our Short Sale Relocation Grant is financial help from Abraxas Foundation, a [501(c)(3)] nonprofit, to cover some of the cost of moving and getting settled in a new home.
The grant is not a loan, and you do not pay it back.
Who may qualifies
You qualify if:
- You own a home in New York State / the five boroughs and nearby counties
- The home is in pre-foreclosure
- Anyone in our Shortsale program is eligible to apply for the Grant

My short sale hasn’t closed yet. Can I still apply? Yes. You can apply while the short sale is in progress. Your automatically applied once you start the short sale approval with Abraxas Foundation inc.
I already got a cash-for-keys offer from my lender. Can I still get the grant? You only qualify for our program if we are processing your short sale directly with the bank
How long does it take? Most applicants get a decision within once shortsale is approved by the bank .
Is my information private? Yes. We use it only to review your application and never sell it.
